ArcGIS is the industry standard GIS software. Buffalo State holds a campus-wide site license. ArcGIS can be installed on any Buffalo State-owned computer or a faculty personal computer. The software only runs on a PC.

ArcGIS 10.4 -10.5 Student Edition is a full-featured GIS software for visualizing, managing, creating, and analyzing geographic data. This is a 1 year, limited license that students can install on their personal computer through a faculty sponsor. The software may only be used for educational, research, and academic purposes, and not for commercial use or resale.  Please contact Mary Perrelli (perrelmf@buffalostate.edu) in the Department of Geography and Planning to obtain a DVD or authorization code for a digital download edition.  For installation instructions click here.
